FOUR REASONS American men seek romance abroad: Prague, Ha Long Bay, Red Square, small villages in Latin America. Somehow meeting a Czech, Vietnamese, Russian or Peruvian/Colombian/Brazilian woman for a date at one of these exotic places is incomparably more exciting than meeting a hometown girl at the local coffeeshop. Opponents of a man's right to meet foreign women online never stop to consider how enjoyable it is to travel/work/live abroad and learn new cultures and languages while seeking a marriage partner.

Someone posted this on an age-gap advocacy board:

www.AgelessLove.com

hi am new here. am 22 my OM is 57. we have been going for 4 years now. we are very in love and have a long distance relationship. our relationship is at the point where we are engaged and planning on getting married 6 months from now. my fiance and i have being to 7 different immigration solicitors who told us we wont get visa based on our large age gap.

do u think i should go ahead and apply for a visa to go and be with my OM or should i take the advice of the solicitors i've seen.

Am feeling lost all i want is to be with my fiance. he has his business in the uk and thats the only reason why he cant just leave everything behind in the uk to come and be with me.

Can the immigration officer's just refuse a visa based on a large age gap like mine even though the require documents are all met.

has anyone experienced what am going through???
thanks for your input on this.

This story is about British immigration officials denying her a visa, and is not related to IMBRA or U.S. immigration law.

i brought a filipina over to the united states before on a K-1(fiancee visa) a couple of years ago so i can talk about this subject from experience. there was a 21 year age gap between us(45 to 24) and i never heard anything about there being a limit or restriction on age difference. now they DO look for proof the relationship is valid. but as long as you have ''your ducks lined up in a row'' as far as proper documentation goes, the age does not matter. by the way, i am a member of two international dating sites and i have never heard of a visa being turned down simply because of an age difference.
