Online Dating Rights. Mail Order Brides

FOUR REASONS American men seek romance abroad: Prague, Ha Long Bay, Red Square, small villages in Latin America. Somehow meeting a Czech, Vietnamese, Russian or Peruvian/Colombian/Brazilian woman for a date at one of these exotic places is incomparably more exciting than meeting a hometown girl at the local coffeeshop. Opponents of a man's right to meet foreign women online never stop to consider how enjoyable it is to travel/work/live abroad and learn new cultures and languages while seeking a marriage partner.

Christine Grumm, the President of the Women’s Funding Network, believes that “web-order brides” are “marrying up”, and apparently doesn’t seem to have any problem with foreign women “using” American men.  Her only concern apparently is that the men that they are exploiting might actually abuse these “users”.  If you don’t believe it, then read the following Internet post that she made:

International Marriage Broker Regulation Act October 23, 2005 8:56 AM
Human Trafficking is finally getting the attention it deserves - in Congress.
Many women are so desperate to leave their countries, they are willing to use marriage brokers in the hopes of "marrying up" into a  better life - and wind up caught in a ring of prostitution, slave trade and trafficking.
Right now, H.R. 3657, The International Marriage Broker Regulation Act (IMBRA), is being debated in Congress.
The bill helps protect women from abusive men and unscruplous international marriage brokers - and we can help ensure the bill becomes a law.
Click here to sign the petition to the Congressperson in your state and urge them to support this bill today.
Then, don't forget to watch the Lifetime movie event, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, airing Monday & Tuesday, October 24-25 at 9 PM ET/PT.
Know other friends planning to watch the movie too?  Then sign up to host a viewing circle and watch the movie together.

It's not too late to sign up now to host a home screening of Lifetime's 2-part mini-series on October 24
Oct. 24-25, 9 PM ET/PT

Here's your chance to stand up for these women - sign this petition and urge your representative to support this bill today!

Men deserve this stuff when they do not have their own Men's Funding Network.

We men were all caught with our pants down.

The "Old Boys Network," that I assumed had $Billions in reserve for such occasions, is apparently dead...literally...and they apparently married feminists who are using their own money against us.

Who here is trying to find rich donors to fund a "Men's Funding Network"?

Who here has even tried to write to Paul McCartney and Michael Jordan?

Honest journalists will see the Tahirih Justice Center as a front for the NOW that appeals to conservative "Security Moms". and Yahoo and MySpace are actually working for total Internet regulation because they don't want clients to be anonymous and they want small dating sites/forums dead.

You have to look at what the woman is saying.  She ostensibly is admitting that “mail-order brides” are using American men to “better themselves”.  She apparently has no ethical problem with this sort of behavior.  This person is supposed to be promoting human rights, and yet she doesn’t seem to have any problem with foreign women using American men.

This is what I find problematic with feminists.  They are only concerned with the human rights of women.  Does Ms Grumm think that it is acceptable for one person to “use” another human being for his or her own betterment?  Did she really mean to say what she apparently said?

I don’t think we want to emulate the feminists.  I find it offensive that some feminists are sympathizing with women who “use” men.  We should be concerned about the human rights of all people.  We should not make arbitrary distinctions based upon gender.

This is a question to all of the individuals who are reading ODR:  What is your opinion of foreign women who marry American men for the sole purpose of achieving permanent residency status and personal betterment here in the United States?  I think that foreign women who do this are exceedingly immoral.
